Abstract

Foreign language teaching has presented challenges for both students and teachers. This research originates from the need of a blind student at the National Open and Distance University – UNAD of Colombia, who enrolled in the Greek course, a mandatory course in his Bachelor of English program. A holistic approach was adopted for the research, involving semi-structured interviews and field journals, and was theoretically supported by constructivism. As a result of this research, a unique teaching strategy was created for the visually impaired student, along with Ancient Greek braille materials, including not only Greek writing in braille but also traditional script forms. This research and the process carried out demonstrate the fulfillment and commitment to guaranteeing the fundamental right to education and equality.
