Abstract

This research aims to reflect on the health of the population in contemporary Brazil, with a focus on the situation of Black women. To achieve this, we will analyze recent statistical data released by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) in the Demographic Census and various official documents from the Ministry of Health. Thus, we will discuss the guidelines of the National Policy for the Integral Health of the Black Population, highlighting prevalent diseases, the health situation of Black women, mental health, and additional data that help us understand access to health in the country and public policies concerning health in the current context. The study involves a preliminary statistical analysis with implications for guiding public health policies for local communities in northern Goiás, based on the Gender Violence Combat Observatory, a partnership between the State University of Goiás, North Campus Uruaçu, and the Federal Institute of Goiás, Uruaçu Campus.

  • Renatha Cândida da CRUZ, Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Goiás, Federal Institute of Goiás - Uruaçu Campus.

    Postdoctoral researcher in the Master's Program in Territories and Cultural Expressions in the Cerrado, focusing on the theme "Spatiality and Intersectionality of Gender and Race Issues in the Reports of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (1987-2023)." Doctor in Geography from the Federal University of Goiás, specialist in Inclusive Education with an Emphasis on Specialized Educational Support, graduated in Analysis and Development of Systems, and currently pursuing a degree in Law at the State University of Goiás, North Campus. She was a scholarship recipient for Technological and Industrial Development (DTI) by the Foundation for Research Support of the State of Goiás (Fapeg), coordinating the funded project "Empodera." Coordinator of the Extension Program Girls Scientists, member of the Popular Legal Advisory (Ajup) Caliandra do Cerrado, member of the Permanent Commission on Ethnic-Racial Equality Policies at IFG, member of the Brazilian Social State Observatory, member of the Uruaçu Labor Observatory, member of the Public Policy Laboratory of the Economic and Social Development Axis of the Reference Center for Research and Innovation (Cite) at IFG, coordinator of CAOS: Observatory of Society, Technology, and [DIS]Information, coordinator of the Humanities Area at IFMaker Uruaçu.
