Abstract

Several Higher Education Institutions in Brazil (IES), in line with strategy 12.13 of goal 12 of the National Education Plan (PNE), have implemented affirmative action policies in order to guarantee access to groups that historically have been marginalized of higher education in the country. Among these HEIs, the State University of the Southwest of Bahia (UESB) approved in 2008 Resolution CONSEPE Nº. 37/2008, which provides for the reservation system of additional quotas and quotas for indigenous people, people with disabilities and quilombolas destined to the entrance to the undergraduate courses offered by it. The execution of this policy is the object of study of this article, whose objective is to analyze, in numbers, the academic trajectory of quilombolas candidates contemplated with the additional quotas. For that, the normative dispositions related to the subject are presented introductory. The theoretical reference is a historical-conceptual approach of the quilombola communities and their subjects. As methodological procedures, bibliographical review and documentary research were adopted. Among the contributions, it is hoped to contribute to the process of self-evaluation of the policies implemented by HEIs in relation to quilombola access, permanence and curricular payment.
