ARE PHYSIOTHERAPISTS MORE LIKELY TO PHYSICAL OR PSYCHOSOCIAL IMPACT?

Introduction: Physiotherapists are subject to ergonomic, environmental, psychosocial risks that can contribute to the emergence of occupational disorders related to work (WMSD). Objective: The objective of the present study was to assess the damage related to the work of physiotherapists. This is a cross-sectional study carried out with 77 professional physiotherapists working in the city of Goiânia. The Work-Related Damage Assessment Scale (EADRT) was used, which assessed the social, psychological and physical damage factors. Results: The average age of the participants was 30.34 (± 5.76) years, with a higher prevalence of females (77.9%). A worse score was found in the area of women's health in relation to physical damage, as well as a critical assessment related to psychological damage. The specialties of women's health and dermatofunctional were the only ones to present a critical evaluation in relation to social damage. There was a critical assessment regarding physical damage by physiotherapists, which corresponded to 69.2% of the participants, on the other hand, a more positive assessment was found in relation to psychological and social damage, corresponding respectively to 69.2% and 84, 6%. Conclusion: The professional physiotherapist is subject to physical, psychological and social damage in the different fields of activity, however, the physiotherapists in this study were more subject to physical damage when compared to psychological and social damage. And the field of action of women's health had worse scores in the three factors analyzed.
