EXPLORANDO DIFERENTES RECURSOS DIDÁTICOS NO ENSINO FUNDAMENTAL

Abstract

Elementary school is, for most students, the first contact with learning Science, and therefore, didactic strategies can facilitate the understanding of themes as complex as the contents that address cell biology. The objective of this study was to apply different didactic resources in teaching cells to elementary school students in an event at a public school in Anápolis/GO. It was carried out within the scope of the extension project “Popularizando Ciências com Riqueza de Detalhes”, promoting a scientific dissemination action, in Anápolis/GO, on March 29, 2023, at Escola Paroquial Santo Antônio. The dynamics consisted of organizing students into groups for the theoretical explanation of the content, with the aid of three-dimensional models of animal and plant cells, with subsequent observation of plant cells in an optical microscope; with a total of 750 students participating directly. Students were encouraged to identify, learn about and recognize the basic cell structures, especially DNA, a fact that called attention and aroused curiosity and enthusiasm in students, however, nothing surpassed the experience of coming into contact with the microscope, which was made available so that everybody present could view a histological section of Elodea sp. There is a need for public and private investment in the acquisition of materials and equipment that promote a more investigative and constructivist science teaching, but as this reality is still challenging, university interaction and basic education, through extension actions, can mutually collaborate for the development of scientific competences of all those involved.
