A mulher negra na sociedade e nos romances brasileiros: de personagens estereotipadas a escritoras celebradas e premiadas

Resumo

Literatura e sociedade sempre tiveram seus encontros. Se questões importantes da sociedade, como gênero e raça, se movem, na literatura não seria diferente. O romance em sua origem europeia está fortemente atrelado à ascensão da burguesia e seus costumes. No Brasil o romance surge como leitura da burguesia e pertencente à elite nacional. Com o passar dos anos o romance mantém a predominância do mesmo perfil em sua autoria. O negro ocupa lugar de objeto de estudo, sendo construído muitas vezes como personagens estereotipadas: o negro malandro, a negra doméstica, serviçal, a mulata atraente e sexualizada. Ao que se refere às mulheres, se para essas, o processo de construção do espaço como autoras de romance apresentou suas dificuldades, para as mulheres negras se tornou espaço raro, refletindo o que acontece no contexto social em outras tantas áreas. Este artigo busca compreender os motivos da pouca escrita de romances de autoria feminina negra no Brasil e o apagamento pelo qual diversas obras passaram, além do surgimento de um movimento de resistência que nos apresenta, hoje, um número muito maior de obras dessas autoras.

Literature and society have always had their encounters. If important issues of Society, how gender and race move themselves, in literature it would not be different. The novel in its European origin is strongly linked to the rise of the bourgeoisie and its customs. In Brazil, the novel appears as a reading of the bourgeoisie and belongs to the national elite. Over the years, the novel maintains the predominance of the same profile in its authorship. The black people occupy the place of an object of study, often being constructed as stereotyped characters: the black rascal man, the domestic black woman, the servant, the attractive and sexualized mulatta. With regard to women, if for them, the process of building space as authors of novel presented their difficulties, for black women it became a rare space, and reflects what happens in the social context in so many other areas. This jornal seeks to understand the reasons for the lack of writing of black female author novels in Brazil and the erasure that several works have gone through, in addition to the emergence of a resistance movement that today presents us with a much larger number of works by these authors.
