Abstract

Calcium magnesium silicate has been linked to increased phosphorus, increased pH and increased availability of exchangeable soil calcium and magnesium, among other benefits. The objective of evaluate the influence of different dosages of CaSiO3 and MgSiO3 on the availability of soluble P present in a clayey soil cultivated with corn. The experiment was carried out in DBC, with 5 different doses of CaSiO3 and MgSiO3 ha-1 in the cultivation of corn. The performance of the culture to the treatments was evaluated through the P content and the height in the plant, the weight of 1000 grains and productivity. The highest P content in the plant was from the treatment with 200 kg of CaSiO3 and MgSiO3 ha-1 (2.548 g kg-1), not differing from the higher treatments. In the yield of the two highest dosages CaSiO3 and MgSiO3 resulted in the highest yields (300 and 400 kg of CaSiO3 and MgSiO3 ha-1 with yields of 5305 and 5656 kg ha-1). The application of CaSiO3 and MgSiO3 proved to potentiate the agronomic characteristics of corn, mainly, the absorption of phosphorus by the plant and the productive, demonstrating increasing the availability of soluble phosphorus from the soil for the absorption of the plants.
