Abstract

The baruzeiro is considered one of the ten species in the Cerrado with the greatest agricultural potential, so this work aimed to evaluate the production of baruzeiro seedlings in different containers and environments. The experiments were carried out at the Universidade Estatual de Goiás Unidade - Ipameri-GO, in environments under full sun and covered with straw, plastic film and Sombrite® canvas, in each one the tubes of 120, 290 and 820 cm³ were tested, with five repetitions and six seedlings per plot, in a randomized block design. It was evaluated: shoot height, stem diameter, shoot dry mass, number of leaves, leaf area, root dry matter, total dry mass, relative chlorophyll index and Dickson quality index. The results were subjected to analysis of variance (F test) and the means compared by the Tukey test at 5% probability. The production of baruzeiro seedlings in the environment covered with sombrite® fabric and the 820 cm³ tube containers are the most recommended for the cultivation of the species under study in the Southwest region of the State of Goiás.
