Authors

Abstract

The book "Antiracist Education in Basic Education: From Teacher Training to School Practices," organized by Thiago Henrique Mota, addresses the importance of antiracist education in Brazil, highlighting the need for continuous teacher training to deconstruct prejudices and promote a pluralistic and democratic education. The work emphasizes the relevance of Law 10.639/2003 and the need for a theoretical and methodological review of the teaching of Afro-Brazilian History and Culture. It also discusses the challenges faced, such as outdated textbooks and the lack of representation of Black authors, proposing strategies to overcome these barriers and integrate antiracist practices across all school subjects.
