Science Club and University Extension: Strategies for Scientific Literacy and Academic Training of Students

This study began with the following question: “How can a Science Club enhance University Extension and Scientific Literacy among Students?” The objective was to describe the implementation and operation of a Science Club involving higher education students and students in basic education. The qualitative, descriptive, and explanatory research involved a basic education school and the State University of Goiás – Palmeiras de Goiás Unit, Agronomy course. The Club's activities began in October 2024 with weekly meetings that continue to this day. During this period, experimental, investigative, and interdisciplinary activities were carried out. The activities were recorded through written reports, photographs, and videos. The results demonstrated high engagement among participants, increased conceptual understanding, and the development of skills such as logical reasoning, critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership. It was found that the Science Club is a relevant educational space.
