A ESPORTIVIZAÇÃO DA CAPOEIRA: DA CULTURA DE MASSA À INDÚSTRIA CULTURAL

Abstract

The capoeira in the last years is going through a process of sportivization that intends to show it like a Brazilian original sport. But, this process can be much more adverse to capoeira’s identity that interesting to its development. So, the aim of this text is to discuss the process of capoeira’s sportivization, having like references the critical theory of Frankfurt School. For both, it was realized a literature revision, that shows that the insertion of the capoeira in the culture industry logics, understood like a sport don’t bring contributions for its development and its acceptance in the actual social context.
