Abstract

This article presents elements of the historical construction of Christian pilgrimages, from its beginnings to the present day, in which historical contexts and readings are juxtaposed, as well as the interpretations, appropriations, meanings and meanings of pilgrimages, the places of pilgrimage, motivations of pilgrims, routes. To this end, visions and interpretation of the Christian pilgrimage are presented, through various areas of knowledge, whose readings establish a panorama of concepts and definitions, which allow us to elucidate the basic symbolic and appropriation of pilgrimage issues in different theoretical and practical contexts and transformations through various conceptual and historiographical perspectives
