ANALYSIS OF THE SOCIOECONOMIC PROFILE, MEMBERSHIP AND MOTIVATION FOR THE KRAV MAGA PRACTICE: bases for training prescription

Introduction: Physical Training applied to Fighting Martial Arts and Combat Sports Modalities is considered an integral part in the execution, development, and improvement of physical performance, directly impacting the ability to perform tasks that involve psychomotor demands. In evaluating and prescribing your training, you must have prior and comprehensive knowledge of your practitioners. Objective: to analyze the socioeconomic profile, the reasons for joining and the motivation for practicing Krav Maga. Materials and Methods: 30 adult men (15 beginners and 15 veterans), aged between 18 and 60 years, participated in the study. Participants answered three questionnaires, one on the Brazil Criteria for Economic Classification; Adherence to Modality, permanence and intended results and Participation Motivation Questionnaire (PMQ). Results: It was observed that Krav Maga practitioners are in the most privileged socioeconomic strata of Brazilian society; that the multiplicity of exercises proposed by the Krav Maga training protocol stimulated their adherence and that physical conditioning and the need for social insertion are undoubtedly the most important motivational factors. Conclusion: In conclusion, Krav Maga practitioners are among the highest strata in society; that the applied physical training program proved to be attractive and motivational, in view of the multiplicity of activities proposed and the absence of a competitive calendar.
