Abstract

This article presents the research process on the effect of different concentrations of aqueous ginger extract on the cultivation of curly lettuce, smooth mustard, cabbage, and parsley, aiming to develop a manual for identifying the main fungal diseases. This manual was created to aid field diagnosis and promote the use of alternative strategies for disease control in vegetables. The research was conducted at UEG, UnU in Palmeiras de Goiás, with the following treatments: T1 - 0% ginger extract, T2 - 5% ginger extract, and T3 - 10% ginger extract. The diseases identified in the crops were septoria leaf spot in lettuce/parsley, cercospora leaf spot in lettuce/mustard, downy mildew, and Alternaria leaf spot in cabbage. At the end of the research, a technical manual outlining the main diseases was created and shared with small producers, highlighting the importance of diagnosis and the use of alternative disease control strategies in vegetable cultivation.
