Abstract

This article reports the experiences of the Hortativa extension project in fertilization and planting practices carried out at the Centro de Ensino em Período Integral Barão do Rio Branco School, in Palmeiras de Goiás, between August and October 2025. The initiative aimed to integrate theory and practice through the establishment of a school garden, fostering learning about soil management and vegetable cultivation. Students from the Agronomy program at the State University of Goiás collaborated with students from the school on soil preparation, fertilization, and planting. The experience promoted practical learning, environmental awareness, and the strengthening of bonds between the university and the community.
