Study of the enzymatic activity of the endophytic fungus Diaporthe helianthi using different agro-industrial substrates
Abstract
The use microbial enzymes to arouse great interest in several industrial sectors, being the endophytic microorganisms, special fungus, a promising source for obtaining these enzymes. In microbial enzymes productin submerged fermentation is great use, moreover, alternative sources of substrates, such as waste products, can be used. The study aimed to detect enzyme production by the endophytic fungus Diaporthe helianthi and qualitatively estimate the production of proteases and cellulases using different substrates, by means of submerged fermentation. The results obtained by the test in cup plate demonstrate that microorganisms assess has enzymatic potential for the production of proteases and cellulases. Adding waste, such as wheat bran, or the combination of wheat bran and soy flour to the culture medium, provided a result close or superior to the value found for frequently used media. Cellulase activity was also confirmed by spectrophotometry.
