Abstract

The objective of this work was to evaluate the most efficient method for breaking dormancy and the growth of paricá [Schizolobium parahyba var. amazonicum (Huber ex Ducke) Barneby] in the molting phase, under the influence of three different factors. The first, the dormancy-breaking experiment was a randomized block design, with six treatments and five replications. Soon after the experiment was installed the factorial experiment was in randomized blocks design, in a 3x4x5 triple factorial scheme (cultivation system, substrate and irrigation frequency), with ten repetitions It was concluded that the dormancy breakdown should be performed with the use of sulfuric acid (H2SO4) and distilled water, in the percentages of 70% and 30%, respectively, because of the higher germinative potential. The most indicated substrates are washed sand or Cerrado soil + sand washed at a ratio of 1:1, irrigation frequency (shift) every two days and cultivated in full sun, aiming for more uniform growth and more promising development of aerial part and root of plants of paricá.
