Scientometric analysis of the major pea diseases

Abstract

The diseases are the main reason that influences the yield and quality of pod and pea grains. The present study had as objective make a scientometric analysis of articles, focusing on the eight main pea pathogens. To the development of this study, specialized searches were carried on the website “Web of Science” using scientific names of pea pathogens and the pea scientific name as keywords. In the general search, it was obtained 216 articles published between 2000 and 2016 as result, being Erysiphe pisi, Rhizoctonia solani and Pea seed-borne mosaic virus the pathogens with highest number of published works and also citations. Regarding citations/article relation, Rhizoctonia solani (average of 19.4 citations/article) and Pea seed-borne mosaic virus (average of 17.3 citations/article) stood out from the others. A total of 109 journals were responsible for the published works, wherein eight of them concentrated 1/3 of all articles.
