Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

Manuscripts must be submitted free of charge, on a rolling basis, through the journal’s website after registering as an “AUTHOR”, following the submission steps.

The ReDiS – Revista de Direito Socioambiental (UEG) does not charge submission fees or article processing charges.

ReDiS publishes original articles and reviews authored by PhD or Master’s degree holders, with or without co-authors (maximum of three), in the areas of Law and related sciences, provided that the research addresses topics within the scope of the journal.

Interviews may be published only with the express authorization of the interviewee, who must be a recognized authority on the subject, and the content must deal with topics relevant to Law and within the scope of the journal.

In addition to two annual issues, special thematic issues will be organized by invited researchers, with defined deadlines for submission and review of articles, reviews, and interviews.

Translations will only be accepted if the text has not previously been published in Brazil and if the translator is listed as a co-author of the text, or if the translator has been expressly authorized by all the authors.

Articles will be accepted in Portuguese, Spanish, English, French, and Italian. When the primary language of submission is not Portuguese, among the three languages required for the title and abstract (trilingual), Portuguese must always be included, followed preferably by English and Spanish.

Starting in 2025, all articles will be published in three languages: Portuguese, Spanish, and English. Authors may submit their manuscripts in only one of these languages or in all three. If they choose to submit in only one language, they must authorize publication in the other two, with translations carried out with the assistance of Artificial Intelligence.

a) Review System

Articles submitted through the journal’s website will go through two phases of evaluation. The first phase will be conducted by the Editorial Team and aims to verify compliance with these Author Guidelines (maximum period: 30 days). If approved, the article will proceed to the second phase: double-blind peer review. In this stage, the article may be approved, approved with mandatory corrections, or rejected (maximum period: 60 days, extendable for the same duration).

In all cases, the editorial decision and reviewer reports will be sent by e-mail to the author – or, in the case of co-authorship, to the corresponding author registered at submission. In the event of approval with mandatory corrections, the author will have up to 15 (fifteen) business days to submit a revised version via the system, which will be checked by the Editorial Team. This deadline may be adjusted by the editors, upon request, depending on the complexity of the revisions required.

To comply with the requirements of CAPES (Brazil’s Federal Agency for Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education) regarding exogeneity, in each issue the editors will select at least 75% of articles from institutions outside the state of Goiás.

All articles submitted to the journal will first be screened by plagiarism detection software. Articles flagged will be thoroughly reviewed by the Editorial Team, and additional information may be requested from the author. If plagiarism is confirmed, the article will be immediately rejected.

The journal encourages bilingual publication, giving priority to articles with versions in English and Portuguese, or English and another accepted language. Priority will also be given to articles by foreign authors and articles resulting from research funded by national or international agencies.

Double-Blind Peer Review

ReDiS seeks to publish scholarly articles, reviews, and interviews authored by researchers from national or international academic or research institutions.

  1. Only unpublished contributions will be accepted, and publication is conditional upon compliance with editorial standards. Receipt of a manuscript does not imply its acceptance.

  2. Articles will be evaluated through peer review, by at least two specialists in the subject area. Articles are sent for review without author identification.

  3. Manuscripts are immediately forwarded to reviewers. The article selection process involves peer evaluation and the Editorial Board. In the table of contents, articles are listed alphabetically by author’s last name.

  4. The journal reserves the right to make editorial, orthographic, and grammatical adjustments in order to maintain linguistic quality, while respecting the author’s style.

  5. Articles published in the journal may be reprinted, in whole or in part, provided that the original source is cited.

  6. The opinions expressed in the articles are the sole responsibility of the authors.

Evaluation Criteria include:

  • Alignment with the scope of the journal;

  • Compliance with journal guidelines;

  • Originality and novelty of the research;

  • Methodological rigor and scientific quality;

  • Textual cohesion and coherence;

  • Argumentative clarity and critical analysis;

  • Updated and relevant theoretical references.
