This experience report aims to describe an initial proposal for health-promoting physiotherapeutic actions in the context of the School Health Program (SHP). The proposal was developed in the mandatory curricular internship of physiotherapy in Primary Health Care at a third sector educational institution which assists children and adolescents from six to fourteen years old. The activities were developed based on psychomotricity and in a playful way, contemplating the pillars of body scheme, laterality, spatial structuring, temporal orientation and tone/posture/balance. Understanding children and adolescents from the perspective of psychomotricity led future physiotherapists to build their therapeutic actions in an expanded way, far beyond the biomedical model, especially when they began to interpret the notion of health not rooted in the biological perspective or the simple absence of disease. Such course of action certainly leads the future physiotherapy professional to not only treat but directs them towards promotion/prevention actions aimed at well-being and healthy living.
